I am a political scientist who is interested in contentious politics, civil society and state power, with a regional focus on Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Mainland China. Currently, I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Government and International Studies of Hong Kong Baptist University.
My academic articles have been published in Political Studies, Mobilization, Social Movement Studies, Geopolitics, Communist and Post-Communist Studies, Journal of Contemporary Asia, Journal of Contemporary China, Modern China, China Information, China Review, China Perspectives, and Twenty-First Century.

Protest violence and radicalisation
